Nov 28th 1864 This day personally appeared before me James Barnes Littleton G Powell and David H Thomas & made oath that they A? appraised to the best of their ability all the goods & Chattle Estate of Robt P Grizzard dec'd Wm S Francis, J P. Jas H Barnes D. H. Thomas L. G. Powell Southampton Court, November term 1867 Ordered that Littleton Powell, James Barnes, David H Thomas, F. S. Harris, Benj. G Waller, or any three of them being first duly Sworn for the purpose, do appraise all the goods chattles of Robert P Grizzard dec'd & return the appraisement under their hands to the Clerk of the County. A copy Teste, L R Edwards, Ck Southampton county in the clerks office January 20th 1868 ~ This appraisement of the estate of Robert P Grizzard decd. was this day returned and recorded. Teste, L R Edwards, Ck In the year of our Lord 1866: I William B Joyner of the County of Southampton and State of Virginia, being of sound Mind and Memory. Do Make to be this my last Will and Testament. I give unto my Wife Sarah my land and all my property So long as She remains my widow, raise my Children on, but at her death or marriage, I wish for my land to be divided between my two sons Jason Irvin and William Henry, but wish it Valued by three men and for the Said three Mn to Say what part they Shall pay to my five Daughters. Martha Elizabeth, Cornelia Frances, Georgiana, Mary Jane and Rozilla. I also wish all my personal property and Chattel Estate to be equally divided between my seven children above Named. I also wish for me beloved wife Sarah to become Administratrix and Settle my Estate and all my business with only Giving and Security and have no Sail?. This last Will and Testament of William B. Joyner decd. was proved by the oaths of J Whitfield and William Johnson, two of the subscribing wittnesses thereto and Ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of Sarah Joyner Executrix herein named who Made Oath and entered and acknowledged a bond in the penality of One Thousand Dollars.
